BSc Business Management
About this course
Business Management is the study of how organisations are created, led and sustained, and how they compete for resources and customers in a complex and constantly changing environment. It is a degree that draws on economics, psychology, sociology, statistics and law to build a comprehensive understanding of what makes organisations effective, and it develops the analytical, communication and leadership skills that employers across every sector value. For students who want to understand how the commercial world works and how to contribute to and lead within it, business management provides an exceptionally strong foundation. At Hartpury University, this four-year full-time programme is designed to develop both your academic understanding and your professional readiness. You will visit UK-based organisations, hear from guest lecturers who bring direct industry experience, and have the opportunity to complete a work placement. The degree integrates employability throughout your studies, helping you build the skills, experience and professional confidence to impress employers across a wide range of business contexts. The university's dedicated careers team draws on extensive employer relationships to support your transition into graduate employment. Business Management graduates go on to careers in almost every sector of the economy. Management trainee and graduate schemes at major organisations, roles in marketing, human resources, operations, finance and business development, and positions in consulting, the public sector and the voluntary sector are all common destinations. Entrepreneurship is also a well-supported path, with many graduates going on to establish their own ventures or work in start-up environments. Further study at masters level in business administration, management, marketing or a specialist field provides a route to accelerated career progression and senior leadership roles.
