BA Business Management with Financial Management
About this course
Business management with financial management is a combination that addresses two of the most fundamental competencies that organisations need from their graduate recruits. Business management gives you the broad understanding of strategy, marketing, operations, and organisational behaviour that allows you to see how an organisation works as a whole. Financial management goes deeper into the quantitative and analytical dimension of commercial decision-making, developing your ability to analyse financial data, evaluate investment decisions, assess business performance, and understand the financial architecture of organisations. At the University of Hull, this three-year full-time programme develops your understanding of both areas in genuine depth. You will gain in-depth knowledge of financial analysis applied to business operations, learning how to read and interpret financial statements, assess the financial health of organisations, model business scenarios, and identify strategic opportunities. Alongside this analytical training, you will study the full range of business management disciplines, developing the commercial awareness and decision-making confidence to operate effectively across the organisation, not just within the finance function. The programme develops your ability to spot the right opportunities at the right time, combining financial discipline with strategic and commercial thinking. The typical entry tariff is 104 UCAS points. Graduates from business management with financial management programmes go on to careers in financial analysis, management accounting, corporate finance, investment, banking, business development, and general management. Many choose to pursue professional qualifications from bodies such as the ICAEW, ACCA, or CIMA, for which a strong foundation in both business and finance is excellent preparation. Further study at postgraduate level in finance, business administration, or accounting is also available for those who wish to deepen their expertise.
