BA Business Management with Law
About this course
Business and law have always been closely intertwined. Companies operate within legal frameworks that govern everything from how they are formed and financed to how they hire, contract, compete, and resolve disputes. Managers who understand legal principles are better equipped to make sound decisions, manage risk, and navigate the regulatory environments their organisations face. This degree at Salford prepares you to think strategically about business while developing a grounded understanding of the legal context in which that strategy operates. You will study the core disciplines of business management, including strategy, marketing, finance, operations, and organisational behaviour, alongside key areas of business and commercial law, covering topics such as contract, company law, employment law, and the legal frameworks governing commercial transactions. The two strands are designed to complement each other, with legal knowledge informing business thinking and business context giving legal study practical relevance. The programme runs over three years full time, developing both the strategic thinking and the legal literacy that employers across a wide range of sectors value. Graduates are well placed for careers that sit at the intersection of business and law. Roles in management, compliance, human resources, contract management, procurement, risk, and business development are all natural destinations. The legal grounding also provides a foundation for further study, including graduate law conversion courses for those who decide to pursue legal practice, or postgraduate programmes in business administration, commercial law, or related fields. Employers in financial services, professional services, corporate environments, and the public sector consistently value graduates who can think about business problems with legal awareness.
