About this course
Study geography at Queen Mary University of London, explore human geography, geopolitics and development combined with physical geography From migration and urbanisation to climate change and AI, develop the skills to understand and respond to the accelerating changes affecting people and the planet. Our BA Geography programme combines our global reputation for leading research and social justice with study across the full breadth of the discipline, from health, globalisation, and urban life to the remaking of societies in response to environmental change. You will learn from leading academics and guest practitioners, combining conceptual insight with real-world expertise, while developing the analytical and practical skills needed to address contemporary challenges. Our BA Geography programme is designed for curious, ambitious students who can see how combining the analytical training of the social sciences and humanities with technical skills is what sets geographers apart. In your first semester, you will gain international fieldwork experience in Malta as you examine sustainability dilemmas in a region where urban development, tourism, migration, and environmental challenges intersect. Throughout the programme, you will also make the most of our London location, using the city itself as a learning environment, from examining urban consumption cultures in Spitalfields to studying water engineering at Walthamstow Wetlands. Research-led teaching will equip you with geospatial and analytical expertise while developing a deep understanding of human geography's core concerns:
