BA International Business Management
About this course
International business management is the study of how organisations operate, compete, and collaborate across national borders and cultural contexts. It is a discipline that combines the core principles of business management with an awareness of the additional complexity that international operations introduce: different legal systems, currencies, regulatory environments, cultural norms, and geopolitical risks. As trade, investment, and supply chains have become more globally integrated, the demand for managers who can navigate this complexity has grown significantly. At the University of Gloucestershire this three-year, full-time programme develops your understanding of business strategy, marketing, finance, operations, and organisational behaviour alongside the specifically international dimensions of business: global strategy, international marketing, cross-cultural management, and the dynamics of international trade and investment. The programme is supported by the university's dedicated Careers and Employability team, who are on hand to help with CV development and professional communication, and a placement year option is available with dedicated module tutor support for students who want to gain professional experience during their studies. Graduates of international business management enter careers across a very wide range of organisations and sectors. Many move into management roles in multinational companies, international consultancies, trading companies, or organisations with global supply chains. Others build careers in international marketing, export management, business development, or finance with an international focus. Some graduates move into logistics, international relations, government, or the third sector, where global awareness and business knowledge are equally relevant. The degree also provides a good foundation for postgraduate study in business administration, international management, or a specialist business discipline for those who want to develop deeper expertise in a particular area.
