BA International Business
About this course
International business examines commerce as it actually operates in the twenty-first century: across borders, across cultures and across regulatory regimes that vary dramatically from one country to another. It develops the commercial knowledge and analytical skills of a business degree alongside the cross-cultural awareness, social intelligence and adaptability that international operations require. At the University of Hull, this three-year full-time degree is taught within a business school that holds dual AMBA and AACSB accreditations held by fewer than two percent of the world's business schools, placing it within a globally recognised peer group and providing a quality assurance framework that employers recognise. You will study the core disciplines of management, including strategy, marketing, finance, operations and organisational behaviour, within an explicitly international frame. The curriculum examines how business strategies differ across markets, how multinational corporations manage complexity across different legal and cultural environments, how international trade and investment are governed, and how managers navigate the practical challenges of operating across cultures and time zones. Hull's programme develops both the analytical frameworks and the interpersonal competencies that international business careers require. A typical tariff of around 120 points is expected. Graduates pursue careers in multinational companies, international trade organisations, export management, international marketing, management consulting, global supply chain management and diplomacy-adjacent roles in commerce and development. The ability to work effectively across cultures, understand different business environments and adapt commercial strategies to diverse market conditions is consistently valued by employers with international operations. Many graduates also proceed to postgraduate study including MBA programmes or specialist master's degrees in international management, and the accredited business school qualification is recognised by employers worldwide.
