BSc Management
About this course
Management is the discipline of organising and directing resources, people, and processes to achieve organisational goals, and it sits at the heart of every company, public body, and not-for-profit organisation that exists. It draws on economics, psychology, sociology, and quantitative analysis to develop frameworks for understanding how decisions are made, how people work together, how strategies are formed and implemented, and how organisations respond to change and uncertainty. Studying management at degree level gives you both the theoretical understanding and the analytical habits of mind that effective managers need. At the University of Stirling, this four-year full-time degree develops your understanding of management across a range of dimensions, including strategy, organisational behaviour, marketing, finance, and human resource management, in a research-active academic environment. A year abroad is built into the programme, giving you the opportunity to study at an international partner institution and to develop a global perspective on how organisations operate across different economic and cultural environments. Stirling Business School has strong connections with industry and a reputation for teaching that engages students with real management challenges. Management graduates are valued across virtually every type of organisation and sector. Many move into general management training programmes with large companies, into specialist functions such as marketing, operations, or human resources, or into consultancy and advisory roles. Others use the degree as a foundation for entrepreneurship, moving into their own ventures or into the fast-growing small business and start-up sector. The degree also prepares you for postgraduate study in management, business, strategy, or a specialist management field. The typical entry tariff is 136 points.
