BA Marketing
About this course
Marketing at a creative arts university brings a distinctive orientation to a discipline that is, at its core, concerned with communication, visual culture and the relationship between organisations and the people they serve. Modern marketing spans strategic planning, digital channels, content creation, data analysis and brand development, and a programme situated within an arts and design environment brings creative intelligence and visual literacy to all of those areas in ways that more conventional business settings rarely achieve. At Norwich University of the Arts you will develop practical marketing skills and knowledge grounded in business and digital capability, with a particular emphasis on applying what you learn to real work-based projects. You will stay current with emerging digital technologies and explore how to use them to design and deliver effective cross-channel campaigns and strategies. The creative environment of the institution means you will develop an instinct for visual communication and design thinking alongside your commercial and analytical marketing training. The programme runs over three years full time. Marketing graduates from a creative arts context are well placed for roles that combine commercial and creative intelligence. Brand management, digital marketing, content strategy, social media, creative production, advertising, communications and user experience design all draw on the combination this degree develops. Employers in fashion, media, cultural institutions, creative agencies and technology companies particularly value the arts-informed perspective alongside marketing competence. Further study at postgraduate level in marketing, communications, design or business is a natural option for those who wish to specialise or develop their strategic capabilities.
